September was a good month for me. I self published my latest book, God Must Be Laughing. It is a collection of short stories based on entries in my writer's journal. Each story is preceded by the hournal entry that inspired it. That way the reader has some idea of how the author thought up the story and they also learn a little about him. By the time the reader finishes the book he has basic facts about the author and his life. I am looking for a reviewer now so I can add a review to my Amazon.com page. In essence, in the writing world I am nobody. It is difficult for a nobody to get reviews or even get their book in a book store or reviewed by the local newspaper. Life is still filled with exciting challenges. I am proud of what I have done, publishing 3 books. I just sent another book for seniors to the publisher. It is called Years Of A Million Dreams, Seniors Look at Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. that should be on the market by December. Sometimes I get discouraged and wish I had someone to talk with. I live alone. I have a caretaker that helps me get around, but he is not interested in my writing. He is a wonderful man and I am planning to write a book for caretakers after this next one comes out. I got really discouraged this morning. I watched the Today Show while I had my coffee. They were interviewing Jena Bush about her new book. After listening to her talk for a while it became obvious that she hired someone to write the book for her. She talked about her 25 city book tour, and in all honesty, I was jealous. Isn't that awful? I feel ashamed of myself, but I could not help it. It is so hard to be a nobody writer. Somehow, I am going to break out of that role. I just have to be patient. Well, it is time to get back to work. I sure would like someone to read this and answer. Dave

I am SO impressed! How wonderful to be able to put down words in such a way that they draw a picture for the reader. We seniors should share our stories, after all, we are the original "been there, done that" crowd.
Thanks for carrying the torch,
Blessings
